Abstract
A 66-year-old male was scheduled for tracheal stent insertion for anaplastic dyspnea. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) was set up and running thyroid carcinoma with tracheal and esophageal invasion with preoperative prior to general induction under local anesthesia, due to concern of total obstruction in the airway. Tracheal stent insertion was done with suspension laryngoscope after general anesthesia under ECMO without endotracheal intubation. After procedure, we reversed the patient by using sugammadex and the patient was weaned from ECMO assistance uneventfully. We report a successful anesthetic management of tracheal stenting for severe tracheal stenosis under ECMO without intubation.
